Pattaya, situated 1.5 hours (165km’s) southeast of Bangkok is one of the Heartbeats of Thailand with some of the most luxurious beach resorts in South East Asia. The district is home to 20 Championship Golf Courses all within 1 hour of Pattaya, designed by some of the world’s leading golf course designers.

They include Jack Nicklaus (Laem Chabang), Peter Thompson (Green Valley), Robert Trent Jones Jnr (Eastern Star), David Graham (Burapha), Nick Faldo (Emerald), Desmond Muirhead (St.Andrews 2000) and B.Curley and L.Schmidt (Siam Plantation) home of the LPGA HONDA CLASSIC 2009.

With world-class facilities and clubhouses this area is arguably the pinnacle of all golfing destinations in SE Asia. Each course has compulsory caddies, carts and strategically placed drink huts every 3 or 4 holes.

This mature, fun course was originally built in 1958. With lots of variety and fast greens this course will test the skills of all golfers. The course also has Troops of Monkeys running around the early holes.

Designed by David Graham and Gary Panks, this course is well maintained with all greens and fairways kept in magnificant condition. Burapha’s 36 holes are well laid out and just 30 minutes from Pattaya.

Crystal Bay is a fairly open course. Designed by Thai Takenaka, it has been described as a Hawaiian style course. Opened in 1988, it is well manicured, with lush fairways and plenty of palms.

A Nick Faldo and Desmond Muirhead designed course, this interesting course has a jungle like setting with magnificent scenery. Nestled into the mountains of Ban Chang, Emerald Golf Club will test your ability of driving accuracy particularly with its strategically placed bunkers. The clubhouse facilities are excellent.

Eastern Star Country Club & Resort – 1992

A strategic Robert Trent Jones Jr. course, it has wide fairways and is set in an old coconut plantation.
The course features coconut palm trees and has become a popular local favourite. The gently undulating fairways and greens feature 65 bunkers, 11 lakes and more than 2,200 coconut palm trees. For the experienced golfer it offers plenty of challenges.

Khao Kheow Country Club is set in a valley between two hills. With numerous water hazards and pot bunkers this course plays quite long. The 17th signature par 3 hole is a hole to die for. With 27 holes to choose from this golf course has a lot to offer. A popular Pete Dye design.

Laem Chabang

Laem Chabang int’l Country Club – 1995

Laem Chabang is a Jack Nicklaus designed course and is amongst Thailand’s best. This is a 27 hole course with rolling hills with plenty of hazards. Laem Chabang’s 3 sets of nines are the finest in the area, with the Lakes and Valley courses curving around pristine natural waterways and the Mountain nine offering spectacular views. Night golf is also available.

Pattana Golf and Sports Club is a very lush and exotic course. With large water hazards and undulating fairways, this course will be a test to all golfing skills. The 27 hole course is well suited to the low handicappers. Designer is Gussan.

Pattaya

Pattaya Country Club is 25 minutes from Pattaya. It has large fairways, not much water but undulating greens that are well protected by bunkers. A relatively easy course nestled amongst the gentle hills.

Phoenix

This is a Dennis Griffiths design set in a rolling terrain. Phoenix Golf Club consists of 3 nines, the mountain, ocean and the lakes courses. With sea views and wide fairways, this course is set up for the long hitters. The large clubhouse has luxurious facilities.

Rayong Green Valley

Rayong Green Valley is a Peter Thomson design and is one of the most picturesque courses in the Pattaya area. The water hazards and bunkers while not the hardest still offer a reasonable challenge to all levels of golfers.

One of the newest courses in the area Siam Plantation is a must play course. With a very challenging layout and breathtaking views all golfing enthusiasts will enjoy it immensely. A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley ( U.S.A.) design it is home of the Honda LPGA Classic 2009.

Old Course

Siam Country Club, Old Course – 1971

Host of the Honda Classic LPGA 2007 and the 2009 Asian tour event, this timeless gem was built nearly 30 years ago and is one of the oldest clubs in the district. With excellent playing conditions, narrow fairways, this is an absolute treat. Designer is Isao Mazumi. Home of the Honda LPGA classic 2010

St Andrews

St Andrews 2000 Golf Club – 2000

St Adrews 2000 Golf Club is a Desmond Muirhead design which is a links design course. It consists of two par "6" holes which are a magnificent challenge to those long hitters. Undulating fairways, elevated tees and greens with huge putting areas, this is a demanding course and not one for the faint hearted. A must play course.
